Jorgensen Farms | Megan & Matt

Jorgensen Farms Wedding

Megan + Matt

A Spring Wedding at Jorgensen Farms

I met these two almost a year ago when we first met for coffee to talk about their wedding and I was excited for their day to arrive ever since. Megan is one of those people who instantly makes you feel like you've been friends for years when you first meet her. Right away we were laughing and joking, and I was so excited to have her and Matt booked as my first 2018 wedding! Megan has amazing style and her favorite color is yellow, so naturally Jorgensen Farms was the perfect choice for their venue :)  Her and Matt are SUCH a great couple. They have that real, sweet, almost tangible kind of love between them and I felt so honored to be the one to capture it for them on their wedding day. Matt's reaction every time he laid eyes on Megan all day was so incredibly cute. They had a perfect, warm, sunny April day for their wedding, which was such a miracle considering it snowed 2 days before AND 2 days after!! We even scored a pretty sunset, which is always one of my favorite times to sneak couples away for a few more shots. Thank you Megan and Matt for sharing your gorgeous day with me, I loved every minute of it!

Jen + Tim

Jeffrey Mansion & Raymond Memorial || October 7, 2017

Getting to meet so many awesome couples is definitely a huge perk to my job, and I'm especially glad and thankful I met this one! They are such an inspiring couple and their love for each other is so evident. They're one of those couples that you can't help but smile and say "aww" when you see them together :) Tim bravely serves our country and Jen is literally one of the sweetest humans I've ever met. She is so authentically kind, has such a heart for others, and look what a beautiful bride she made!! I've wanted to share this wedding for a while, but these two have especially been on my heart the past couple of weeks because Tim was recently deployed and I can't imagine how it must feel having to be separated just 6 months into marriage. Jen sent me the sweetest message last week telling me how their wedding photos mean more than ever right now while he is away and how extra thankful she is for them. That right there folks is EVERYTHING. It's why I believe in what I do and why I love what I do so much.

Jen and Tim's wedding day was like a literal fairy tale. The girls started their day by drinking mimosas and getting pampered at Blake Rose Salon in Grandview. The guys hung out and got ready at Middle West Spirits in the Short North. They got a private tour and vodka tasting-not too shabby of a start to the day! Their ceremony was outside at Jeffrey Mansion and it was BEAUTIFUL. Their dog Chloe even made a surprise appearance in the middle of it! After photos all around the mansion, we headed to their reception which was held at Raymond Memorial in Hilliard. From beginning to end, the day was filled with lots of laughs and lots of (happy) tears :)

Enjoy some of my favorites from the day!

Sydney + Scott

Sydney + Scott

Upper Sandusky, Ohio   September 2, 2017

Once upon a time there was a crazy adorable couple who had a crazy beautiful wedding and I'm the crazy lucky photographer who got to capture it. Sydney and Scott's wedding was basically perfection. I was dying over every amazing detail the entire day. Every time I turned around there was something else more beautiful and perfect than the last thing I just obsessed over! SO MUCH GOLD AND SO MANY FLOWERS and if you know me, you know that's pretty much all it takes to make me happy. Sydney had so many personal and sentimental touches sprinkled in (like the sleeve from her mom's wedding dress wrapped around her bouquet, and the roses on the invitations and in the flowers to represent her middle name). It was the perfect balance of vintage and fresh.

But what's a beautiful wedding without an equally beautiful couple? Thankfully I didn't have to find out because Sydney and Scott are two of the most beautiful people, inside and out. They're obviously a dang good-looking couple, but they are truly two of the sweetest people in the world. I will never forget them taking the time out of their reception to chat with Dave and I for a good 20 minutes, just like we were old friends. Being around them and their equally incredibly kind (and fun!)  family members and friends all day left Dave and I both with such full hearts and feeling so grateful for our job.

So yeah. I freaking loved everything about this wedding and am SO EXCITED to finally share it!!! Enjoy all the beautifulness!!!

a sweet and intimate ceremony by the water

I went to high school with a sweet girl named Ashley, who luckily I have stayed in contact with! I have had the pleasure of photographing her ever-growing family over the years and I can't wait to meet baby #3 soon! After high school, she moved to England for a few years and while she lived there met and became friends with Emma. (She also met her husband there!) Eventually Emma ended up meeting her brother, Aaron, and the rest is history!

They got engaged and Emma made the big move to the U.S. They decided to have a small and intimate ceremony in a friend's (beautiful!) backyard in my hometown of Mansfield! It was a gorgeous fall afternoon and they exchanged their vows in front of their closest friends and family. It was so special. I am so happy I was able to capture it for them. I also snuck in a few maternity photos of Ashley since she is expecting and looked so darn cute! :)

Enjoy the many favorites from the day!

Ashley + Clay

                A Boho Summer Wedding

I had been looking forward to Ashley and Clay’s wedding for a year! I met them through Ashley’s sister, Alicia, who I used to work with. As soon as Ashley started sharing her visions for their wedding with me I knew I was going LOVE IT. We have very similar taste and style and the more she said “lots of greenery” and “eucalyptus” the more excited I got!  Not to mention how incredibly nice and chill these two are. Their true closeness and fun-loving attitudes made for some awesome photos-both at their engagement session last fall (which is one of my absolute favorites I’ve ever shot-check it out here ) and at their wedding. I love how natural and effortlessly-in-love they look together in front of the camera. Capturing a love like theirs is what photographer’s dreams are made of.

Their wedding was held at Weathering Woods in their hometown of Zanesville, about an hour or so outside of Columbus. It was a gorgeous, sunny August day and everything looked beautiful when we arrived. There were so many sweet, emotional moments and happy tears that day. One of my favorite moments was when Ashley and Clay shared a “first touch” right before their ceremony. They didn’t see each other but held hands behind a door and Ashley read a letter that Clay wrote her. It was so so sweet.

Their ceremony was beautiful and their reception was so fun. The bridal party was awesome and we had tons of fun taking photos! There was a killer sunset that night so we made sure to take advantage of that as well. Sunset photos pretty much complete me.

Ashley and Clay, I absolutely loved being a part of your wedding day! I knew we were going to have an awesome time working together from the beginning and I was beyond right! Thank you for your trust and excitement and I wish your marriage all the happiness in the world!

Grand Barn at The Mohicans | A Romantic Woodsy Wedding

Kacey + Nick

I met these two about a year ago when we met for coffee to talk about their wedding. Right away I noticed that they were a fun, outgoing couple, they absolutely adored each other, Kacey had such a big, beautiful, contagious smile, and their wedding was going to be AMAZE. It was held at the BEAUTIFUL Grand Barn which is tucked way back in the middle of the woods of the Mohican State Park. I arrived and felt like I entered a fairy tale! It was right up my alley with huge trees and tons of greenery EVERYWHERE! Y Oh, my heart. I could not wait to get them out and around for their portraits! Just you wait and see all the awesome places we found :)

The Grand Barn Wedding and Event Center at the Mohicans

The barn itself was also so gorgeous. Kacey and the girls were getting ready up in the main loft and the guys were getting ready in a treehouse nearby. How cool is that?! Dave and I arrived in the afternoon and while I photographed Kacey's dress and pretty details along with her and her girls getting ready, Dave photographed Nick and his groomsmen getting ready. Everyone was so fun and sweet! The groomsmen were a trip! They were hilarious and had me laughing all day. Don't miss all the great photos I got of them dancing :)

After they put the flower crown on her, this little flower girl looked in the mirror and LOVED the way she looked! SO CUTE!!! (Don't we all secretly feel this way when wearing a flower crown??)

Columbus Groom

After Kacey was in her dress we went outside and took her bridal portraits and the bridesmaids photos. She was stunning! Her long lace dress and floral crown made me so happy. All the bridesmaids looked lovely as well. So much pretty!

Columbus Bride

I had so much fun shooting Nick and his groomsmen! They were so funny and such good sports despite the crazy heat we were enduring! I love a fun bridal party-it makes wedding days even that much more awesome :)

After portraits we got ready for the ceremony. It was held outside on the back patio of the grand barn. It was hot, but so so worth it! When Kacey came down the aisle Nick's reaction was so sweet. He was beaming ear to ear and he sighed so sweetly when he saw her :) They exchanged their own vows which is always so special to hear.

Columbus Ohio Wedding

Right after the ceremony and family photos we took some fun shots of the bridal party then I was so excited to take their bride & groom portraits all around the amazing venue. Oh man, I could have photographed them for hours. Between the amazing scenery and super happy, in-love couple, it was pretty much perfect!

After pictures we headed back to the beautifully decorated barn for the reception. Everything from the toasts to the dancing was so fun to photograph. I especially loved capturing all the adorable kiddos and the hilarious groomsmen break it down on the dance floor :)

 City BBQ catering! YUM!

Kacey changed into a second dress and it was that awesome golden hour so we snuck away during the dancing for a few minutes to grab a few more portraits. Sunset photos always end up being some of my favorite images from wedding days! Golden hour is a glorious thing.

Congrats Kacey & Nick, I hope you are enjoying marriage and being newlyweds! It was an absolute pleasure to capture your wedding day!

Katelyn & Ian

a gorgeous country club wedding

Oh man, this wedding. Where to start? Everything was beautiful! The weather was perfect, the venue was amazing (Union Country Club in Dover, Ohio), the couple is obviously gorgeous, Katelyn's dress was stunning, the flowers, the colors, the details....oh my!

Katelyn is a friend of my sister's and is the nicest and most down-to-earth girl. I hadn't met Ian until their wedding day but I knew if he was anything like her he was going to be the same way and I was right. He was so nice and so chill and they were so fun to work with. Both of their families were the same too! Literally everyone I met that day was awesome.

Katelyn and Ian have something special. I could tell right away. They were so clearly in love and so sweet with each other. The way they looked at other with pure adoration was adorable to watch. I may have teared up just a bit during their ceremony.... ;) Also their first dance was to the song that my fiancé and I are going to dance to at our wedding in a month so I may have shed a tear then too...I'm sorry ok I'm a sappy romantic at heart and I really love weddings and people in love!!!

It was hard for me to pick my favorite pictures from their day to share because they were pretty much all my favorite. But here they are, enjoy! Also, a big shout out to my fiancé Dave for traveling with me, second shooting, anticipating my needs all day and literally making it possible for me to do what I love!

Congratulations Katelyn and Ian! Your wedding was BEAUTIFUL and I am so grateful that you put your faith in me to capture it for you!
