Welcome to my blog!

Hey guys look at me! I'm blogging! I've been reading many other people's blogs for years, always wanting to do it myself. Now I am! This is my opportunity to document my journey, share my work, and convey a little bit of my personality with you all! Oh yeah, I'm feeling very Carrie Bradshaw right now and I like it. This is going to be fun.

So, welcome to my website!!! I have put so much time and love into this and I'm so excited that it's FINALLY ready to share! I HAVE A WEBSITE! That feels awesome to say. Making real progress and watching all of my dreams and visions come to life is incredible. A couple years ago when I got my camera for Christmas and decided that I wanted to really go for this photography thing I had no idea how much it would change me and change my whole world. I instantly fell in love with it. With all of it. With the learning, the growing, even the struggles. I never thought that I could actually enjoy struggling but I do. Because the struggles mean that I'm doing something worth struggling for. I'm doing something that I am so passionate about and something that I am confident is my calling. It took me longer than some people, but I found it. God has had this plan for me and He lead me to in in His perfect timing. You know the saying "nothing worth while comes easy." Well, amen. True dat. It hasn't been easy but it is SO worth while and I haven't second guessed my decision to go for it for a second. I come alive when that camera is in my hands! For the first time in my life I can wholeheartedly say I LOVE WHAT I DO!

I wouldn't have been able to get to where I am without my support system that is my amazing boyfriend, family, and friends. These people believe in me, encourage me and push me to keep going. My boyfriend Dave is the most encouraging person I know and has been my biggest fan since the beginning. It's pretty awesome having someone like that by your side! I really love that while he's very supportive and kind, he knows when to challenge me and pushes me to step outside of my comfort zone. That's something you hear all the time, but when you REALLY apply it, amazing things can happen. I love the saying "what would you do if you weren't afraid of failing?" The fear of failing has held me back from doing a lot of things for a lot of my life. Guys, failing isn't always bad! You fail, you learn! You grow! It takes failure to succeed. When I find myself feeling scared to do something because I don't think I will be good enough, I try to remember that. I look at where I am now compared to a couple years ago and I am reminded that if I wouldn't have taken chances and done things that made me nervous, I wouldn't have made any progress! I might not have even started at all! I hope to always continue to take chances, make mistakes, learn lessons, and expand my comfort zone.

Ok, the motivational speech segment of this blog is over. I just know how much it has helped me to read similar things during the beginning of my journey. My journey has just begun and I'm really excited to share it!!!
